LIQUORICE

Liquorice contains a compound called glycyrrhizin that reduces the replication of viruses and their ability to penetrate and replicate inside healthy cells. It is effective in the treatment of  viral illnesses including HIV strains and viral hepatitis.

OLIVE LEAF

Olive leaves contains a compound called elenoic acid, which has been identified as a powerful inhibitor of a range of viruses –influenza, herpes and polio. The elenoic acid stops the production of enzymes that allow viruses to replicate.

ST JOHN’S WORT

St John’s Wort  is well-known for its ability to treat depression and neuralgia and has antiviral compounds too, called hypercin and pseudo-hypericin, that fight off viruses that imitate existing cells through protein “cloaking”. These viruses masquerade as human cells include Herpes, HIV and Hepatitis C.

ELDERBERRY

Elderberry binds to the tiny spikes on the virus protein that pierce and invade healthy cells and damages them so that the virus is ineffective. Elderberry can be effective against the herpes simplex virus.

ECHINACEA

Echinacea  supports the immune system and has an anti-viral action against colds and viral bronchitis. The roots and flowering tops are most effective helping the body resist the viruses.

PAU D’ARCO

Pau d’arco also known as lapacho, is an Amazon tree bark that can treat colds, influenza, herpes. It inhibits virus replication by damaging the DNA and RNA inside the viral protein that would insert itself in a healthy human cell and replicate.
